But while sending kids to the rehab facility, a lot of things have to be weighed. Besides detox treatment that helps these adolescence overcome craving and withdrawal in a safer environment, teens need support and a loving environment so that they can learn to cope up with stress and everyday difficulties within the center and in the real world too.

Families can call on the phone once or twice per day. Teens rehab usually incorporates family-based therapy in which family members are invited to the rehabilitation center to participate in the therapy twice or thrice per week. This way child does not feel isolated or given up by the family.
Some teen rehab facilities provide for a tutor so that these minor patients can cope up with their studies and schoolwork during treatment. This enables putting academics at the same level as health during treatment. Some rehab centers work with schools to ensure the smooth transition back to the school after leaving rehab for good.
The effectiveness of addiction treatment among adolescence is even difficult in comparison to the treatment in adults because numerous factors affect the recovery. Even the relapse rate among teenagers is higher.
The ultimate aim of the rehab facility is to render the teenage environment which abstains from alcohol or drug usage. The final effect of treatment on teens is determined by the support system for them outside the center, their commitment towards the treatment and willingness to change.
Aftercare places a very important role in the teen's recovery. It is only the family and the friends whose support can convert the treatment into a successful recovery. Attending therapy and support meetings in the initial months afterwards weakens the relapse possibilities.
